298, and the jet in Abell 2151 - the Hercules Galaxy Cluster

near the center of the image
is a 17th magnitude blue jet with several knots coming out of
the odd elliptical galaxy ic 1182, also called Markarian 298.
There is also a faint S shaped plume reaching upward from the
right center. Not obvious in this image is a second nuclei directly
opposite the jet. It
is thought that this is actually two galxies colliding, the second
almost completely consumed by the larger.
28 - ten minute sub-exposures,
iso 1600, with my Canon 350dG on theMeade LX200 classic 12 inch
at f6.8.

with Photoshop CS3.
